18th March - 25th March 2024 is Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a worldwide initiative to challenge stereotypes as well as misconceptions of neurological differences, originally founded in 2018 by Siena Castellon.

EPSRC Invests Further into the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Machine Learning
We have received the fantastic news of the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) investing £1 Billion into Centres of Doctoral Training (CDTs). Included in the list of centres receiving funding is our own CDT in Statistics and Machine Learning.
Prof. Chris Holmes is part of expert panel calling for action on medical devices prone to unfair biases
As a member of the expert panel for the review of medical devices, Professor Holmes called on the Government to appoint an expert panel to address the AI revolution happening in healthcare.

2022 Corcoran Memorial Prize awarded to Dr Adam Foster
The Department of Statistics is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2022 Corcoran Memorial Prize is Dr Adam Foster. Adam was supervised by Professor Yee Whye Teh and Dr Tom Rainforth and his thesis was entitled, ‘Variational, Monte Carlo and policy-Based approaches to Bayesian experimental design’.
