A welcome and event forecast for the term

Welcome to Trinity Term 2024! We hope everyone has had a restful vacation period and enjoyed the long Easter Weekend at the start of April. Sunny days are becoming more frequent with the outdoor temperatures slowly rising with the increasingly longer days.

This week is Week 0 of Trinity Term and there several events already in the works and available for Department Members to attend. Additionally, the whiteboard in the Ground Floor Social Area (GFSA) has already seen several iterations of equations and workings, one of them pictured above. As the final term, Trinity is filled with the conclusions of the academic year alongside the eager anticipation of finishing for the summer.

In line with the other terms of 2023/24, we have the theme of Consultancy for Trinity. We're excited for the 'Consultathon' that will be happening, thanks to the organisation of the Oxford University Statistical Consulting (OxUSC) team.

Exams: Celebrate Sustainably

With the end of Trinity Term being one of the main examination periods, the University’s Exams: Celebrate Sustainably student campaign has launched and promotes responsible behaviour after exams.

If students litter by throwing, pouring or spraying substances after their exams, they will be liable to a strictly enforced £150 fine. Students are encouraged to find alternative ways of celebrating that don’t impact the environment or local community.

All members of Oxford’s community are also asked to be considerate and respectful around students taking exams as part of the Care And Respect for Exams (CARE) campaign.
