Charlotte Deane named as Executive Chair of the EPSRC
The Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, Michelle Donelan, has appointed Professor Charlotte Deaneas the new Executive Chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
Gesine Reinert awarded Bernoulli Prize

OxUSC attend Royal Statistical Society Conference 2023
The Oxford University Statistical Consulting team attended the Royal Statistical Society Conference in Harrogate (4-7 September 2023). In addition to attending many interesting talks, they had the opportunity to organise and participate in two invited sessions. Mariagrazia Zottoli and Cora Mezger gave a talk on the work they are doing with OxUSC, and the challenges and rewards of providing statistical consultancy in an academic setting.
Edwin Fong wins ISBA Savage Award
Edwin Fong has received the 2022 Savage Award from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis for his DPhil thesis The predictive view of Bayesian inference.
Oliver Crook wins Young Biometrician Award 2023
Dr Oliver Crook has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Young Biometrician Award for his paper “Semi-Supervised Nonparametric Bayesian Modelling of Spatial Proteomics” (The Annals of Applied Statistics, 2022).
