Associate Professor of Statistics
The Department of Statistics and Jesus College are recruiting an Associate Professor of Statistics. The successful candidate will also be appointed to a Non-Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College.
The position is offered on a permanent basis. The post will be based at the Department of Statistics.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Statistics or a related discipline, and an outstanding research record, as well as the potential to attract research funding. The Department seeks candidates with interests in any field of Statistical research, which integrates well with research by current members of the department. They will have the skills and enthusiasm to lecture at undergraduate and graduate levels, over a wide range of topics within Statistics, and to supervise students.

Associate Professorship (or Professorship) of Statistical Quantitative Finance/Financial Econometrics (2 posts)
The Department of Statistics and the Oxford Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (OMI) propose to appoint two Associate Professors (or Professors) of Statistical Quantitative Finance/Financial Econometrics from 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The postholders will split their departmental time approximately 50/50 between the Department of Statistics and the OMI, but the appointment is formally held in the Department of Statistics. The successful candidates will be appointed to coterminous Fellowships by Special Election at Reuben College.
The position is offered on a permanent basis, subject to completion of a successful review, conducted during the first 5 years.

I think the best thing about my department is being able to work in offices and share ideas with others in a very communal setting. I find that the department is very good at encouraging communication between other grad students and postdocs and that there is a very real sense of community here.
