    Professor Jennifer Visser-Rogers

    Vice President for Statistical Research and Consultancy, Phastar.

    Prof. Jennifer Visser-Rogers has been the Vice President for Statistical Research and Consultancy at PHASTAR since August 2019, she previously served as Director of Statistical Consultancy Services and Associate Professor at the University of Oxford. Specializing in recurrent event analysis, she focuses on methodology for analysing repeat hospitalizations in heart failure patients, with applications in epilepsy, cancer, retail, and engineering. At PHASTAR, Jennifer shapes the statistical research strategy, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of methodological advances, and leads the statistical consultancy team, providing guidance. She earned the 2020 HealthWatch Award for enhancing statistical understanding through the media. An active member of the Royal Statistical Society, Jennifer served as Vice President for External Affairs and sat on the RSS Council. Additionally, she presided over the British Science Association Mathematical Sciences Section in 2018. Jennifer frequently delivers conference presentations and engages audiences in statistics discussions across various platforms, including radio and television.

    In 2024, Jen was named one of the Twenty Women in Data and Tech ­by Women in Data®.­

    Sam Dumble

    Statistician at Statistics for Sustainable Development (Stats4SD).

    Sam Dumble is a senior statistician with Statistics for Sustainable Development (stats4sd.org).  Statistics for Sustainable Development (Stats4SD) is a not-for-profit, social enterprise established in May 2016. Stats4SD promote better use of statistical methods for decision-making to benefit society and the environment. To achieve this, they advise on:

    • The use of statistical tools in the real world
    • Data engineering, analysis and associated information technology
    • Effective and efficient use of research methods
    • Generation of information products derived from data in the form of resources
    • Statistical support for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of development interventions

    Sam has been part of Stats4SD since its inception in 2016 – focusing on supporting clients with the design and statistical analysis of projects across a wide range of fields, and in the building the statistical knowledge and skills of non-specialists through development of teaching and training resources.

    Alexander Barry

    Statistical consultant at Minerva Statistical Consulting (MSC) and founder of AB Stats. 

    Alexander Barry currently works as a statistical consultant for Minerva Statistical Consulting (MSC) and is the founder of AB Stats. His clients range from financial firms with MSC to non-profits with AB Stats with occasional work with the Global Priorities Institute (GPI) at the University of Oxford.

    Alexander completed his undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. After working for the Centre for Effective Altruism between 2018-2020, he completed his Masters of Statistics (MSc) at the University of Oxford with the Department of Statistics in 2021-2022.
