
Dr Elizaveta (Liza) Semenova is Lecturer in Biostatistics, Computational Epidemiology and Machine Learning at Imperial College London’s School of Public Health, where she designs scalable Bayesian and deep-generative-model methods for spatiotemporal health data. A Schmidt Sciences AI2050 Early Career Fellow who pioneered frameworks such as PriorVAE and aggVAE, she previously held posts at the University of Oxford, Imperial’s Department of Mathematics and AstraZeneca R&D after completing a summa-cum-laude PhD in Epidemiology at the Swiss Tropical & Public Health Institute and a first-class mathematics diploma from Moscow State University.
