Anjali leads a multidisciplinary group based at the University of Oxford. Her group uses a combination of statistical and experimental approaches towards understanding how genetic changes take place in human eggs and sperm -- our germline -- leading to mutations that may be passed down to future generations. Her lab also studies the impacts of mutation and recombination on human health and the evolution of species.

Anjali is a Wellcome Trust and Royal Society Sir Henry Dale Fellow and a winner of the Wellcome-Beit Prize. She has a DPhil in Genomic Medicine and Statistics and worked as a strategist at Goldman Sachs prior to doing genetics research. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees from IIT Bombay (Mumbai, India), MIT (Cambridge, MA, USA) and Oxford University (Oxford, UK).
