Qinyu Li

StatML CDT student

About Me

Hello! I'm Qinyu (pronounced chin-yu, though frequently mispronounced as Queen Yu), a DPhil student on the StatML CDT. Previously, I completed a BSc in Mathematics with Modern Languages at University College London, followed by an MSc in Statistics at Oxford. I worked at Imperial College London as a Research Assistant for a year before returning to Oxford to start my DPhil. Because I had such a great time at University College London before, the universe decided to send me to University College Oxford this time!

Research Interests

I have broad interests in Bayesian inference, causal inference, and deep learning. I'm currently working on two research projects: one delving into causal inference methods in mixed environments, and the other exploring alternative approaches to backpropagation for deep neural networks.
