Paid research internships in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will be available this summer through UNIQ+, Oxford's flagship graduate access programme.

Designed for talented individuals from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds at postgraduate level, these internships offer research experience with Oxford’s world-class AI/ML community through either six-week or ten-week research projects. Research projects are available across many aspects of modern AI and ML, and hosted by research groups in the Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics Departments.

Starting on 4 July 2022, the programme offers a generous scholarship (£2,500 for 6 weeks or £4,200 for 10 weeks) stipend and free-of-charge accommodation in one of Oxford’s colleges, as well as the opportunity for students to improve their research skills and find out more about postgraduate study and careers in AI and ML. Eligible students will need to be ordinarily resident in the UK and studying in at least the second year of (or have graduated from) an undergraduate course in the UK or Ireland. They will also need to meet at least one of the key eligibility criteria from a list designed to identify applicants who are less likely to access postgraduate education due to socio-economic and financial circumstances.

Applications are now open. The deadline is 12 midday on Friday 18 February 2022.  For eligibility criteria, subject areas, projects and how to apply, plus a link to the online application form, visit the UNIQ+.

The following projects are included in the AI/ML programme: MPLS 2, MPLS 4, MPLS 5, MPLS 6, MPLS 7, MPLS 8, MPLS 23, MPLS 37, MPLS 38, MPLS 39, MPLS 40, MPLS 41, MPLS 42, MPLS 43, MPLS 44, MPLS 45, MPLS 49, MSD 12.
