The Department runs a number of special Lectures and Seminars throughout the year.

Distinguished Speaker Seminars are held twice termly.

The David Blackwell Lectures aim to to mark the ground-breaking work of Professor David Blackwell with an annual lecture from a distinguished speaker. 

The Corcoran Memorial Lecture is an annual lecture in memory of Stephen Corcoran in which distinguished guest lecturers are invited to deliver a lecture on important aspects of their work. .

The Florence Nightingale Lectures  aim to invite a distinguished speaker to lecture on a statistical topic of their choice, one which can inspire the current generation as Nightingale herself did.
