We are happy to share the news of a gift from Google DeepMind which will enable the Department of Statistics to recruit a new Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate. Applications are now open for the position on the jobs.ox.ac.uk website.

The post holder will engage in internationally leading research in AI or ML, manage their individual research portfolio, establish research collaborations across the University, and supervise research students. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to organise and participate in outreach activities and be a role model, ambassador, and point of contact for other emerging talent.

The role will involve designing and delivering outreach activities aimed at encouraging under-represented students to take up undergraduate and postgraduate study in AI-related fields and academic mentorship and guidance will be provided by Professor Yee-Whye Teh.
