Sunbelt 2023

Advanced RSiena workshop

June 22, 2023

7:00 - 10:00 am PDT (Local time Portland) = 16.00 - 19:00 CEST (Local time Amsterdam/Groningen)

Don't use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge as a browser for these pages. These do not reproduce the R scripts in a nice fashion.

Overview

This workshop is intended for participants who have experience in working with RSiena.

Given the time constraints, I will skip over much of the material in the slides and treat the scripts only sparingly.
I hope you will study the material that was skipped during the workshop.

Zoom link

The zoom link was emailed to the participants.

It will be opened about 10 minutes before the start of the workshop.

Programme

To mitigate the stress of online attendance, there will be a lot of breaks.
I shall try to stick to the indicated times.
Also, you are requested to have your own camera on, so as to create a lively experience for all; unless your bandwidth is poor.

Please mute your microphone except when you want to be heard.

Do feel free to interrupt and ask questions!
You also can ask questions in the chat; e.g., during breaks.

Time indications are given for Continental Western Europe summer time.

  1.   16.00 - 16.25     Multivariate networks.
  2.   16.30 - 16.55     Co-evolution of two-mode and one-mode networks.
  3.   17.05 - 17.25     Valued networks (two kinds: networks with weak and strong ties; signed networks).
  4.   17.30-17.50     Parameter interpretation: semi-standardized parameters: entropy-based approach to explained variation.
  5.   18.00 - 18.20     Non-directed networks.
  6.   18.25 - 19.00     Multilevel longitudinal network estimation using sienaBayes.
