I am a past president of the Royal Statistical Society and
of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and have served as Chair of the
United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) and the Joint Mathematical Council of
the United Kingdom. I have been a Council Member (Trustee) of Bath,
Bristol and Oxford Universities and of the Arts and Humanities Research
Council. I am currently the Chair of
the UK Research Integrity Office. For
