Choice of parameter set for use with a mathematical model of mechanical force generation in the heart
Modelling of biological systems are getting increasingly ambitious and are attempting to realistically model increasingly large and complex objects. Models of the heart is one prominent and important example. One interesting problem arises in this context: The parameters of such models are derived from heart from different mammals, that then needs to be combined into one optimal model of for instance the human heart. This problem is seemingly new, but has similarities to other comparative biology issue and to the field of comparative genomics. This project proposes to analyze a very new data set with this problem in mind.
