Checks done in R-devel with

setenv _R_CHECK_LENGTH_1_LOGIC2_ abort,verbose"

which show problems in --run-dontests examples.

'the condition has length > 1' now always gives an error.  This
no longer necessarily indicates which other package is involved, but
standard R debugging (e.g. a traceback) will reveal which.
