Numbers of species and characters retained for treebuilding, with SCOP database size for comparison. PSI-BLAST data is based on SCOP 1.63; the SUPERFAMILY data is based on SCOP 1.65. Figures in parentheses indicate the number of informative characters retained for the parsimony method. All characters were retained for distance methods. In the retained dataset, 690 folds (1103 superfamilies) are present in both datasets.
