University Lecturer in Statistics in association with Jesus College
The Department of Statistics is one of the leading departments in the UK. It seeks to appoint a University Lecturer in Statistics with research interests close to the mainstream of modern statistics, to take up this post from 1 October 2010, or from a mutually agreed later date.
The Lectureship will be held in conjunction with a Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College, the Kay Fellowship. The appointee will be expected to take a full part in the research, teaching and other activities of the Department and College.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in Statistics or a related discipline and a strong relevant research record published in leading journals as well as the potential to attract appropriate research funding. The appointee will also be expected to have the ability to teach effectively over a wide range of topics in the undergraduate syllabus of the Mathematics and Statistics degrees at Oxford, the MSc programme in Applied Statistics, and provide relevant supervision of graduate students.
The combined university and college salary is on a scale up to £56,917 per annum. Additional college allowances are available as set out in the further particulars.
