The microinsurance toolkit currently consists of three complementary parts:
Part A: Documents
Description: Review existing publically available technical literature on actuarial calculations, including practice notes from actuarial societies and academic papers. Draft a summary text and guidance for best practice.

Part B: Educational spreadsheets
Description: Build theoretically sound spreadsheets for educational use.

Part C: Case studies
Description: Collate case studies and any other comments from actual microinsurance work experience. Collate actual models used in microinsurance.
People: Yi-Ding Jiang, Renata De Leers, Abhishek Bose, Vicki Zhang
The type of questions we’ll need to answer through the case studies are:
- What’s the socioeconomic context in the region?
- What’s the extent of microinsurance in the region?
- What type of products are sold by the microinsurance organization and how well are they performing?
- To what extent is actuarial practice utilized in the process?
