Localization of proteins in chemotaxis pathways.
About my research
I am researching into chemosensory pathways of bacteria using bioinformatics methods, with the aim of identifying the constituents of different pathways and how they interact. Starting with the known pathways in the bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides we plan to work out what determines which proteins interact with each other and use this information to create a model which can be used to predict chemotaxis pathways in other organisms.
Biographical Sketch
I am a postdoctoral researcher working with Charlotte Deane, Gesine Reinert and Judy Armitage as part of the Oxford Centre for Integrative Systems Biology. I did my undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge, followed by an MSc in Bioinformatics at Exeter. I then worked for two years as a bioinformatics analyst for the Oxford Protein Production Facility before doing a DPhil in structural immunology at Oxford, which I completed in December 2007.
