Administrative & IT staff

Sarah Parkin – Departmental Administrator

Sarah is responsible for the overall administrative function of the Department, heading a team of administrative staff.

Emma Bodger – Receptionist and Administrative Assistant

Emma is the first point of contact for all visitors and general enquiries and has various other administrative duties. She is also a First Aider.

Jan Boylan – Deputy and Academic Administrator; Disability Co-ordinator [ON LEAVE]

Mareli Grady – Schools Liaison Officer and Mathemagicians Co-ordinator

Mareli is the Schools Liaison Officer. Her role involves co-ordinating the department’s outreach and Open Days, running events for teachers and school students in Years 9-12 as well as creating promotional materials and content.

Hannah Harrison – Administrative Assistant; Harrassment Advisor

Hannah assists with academic administration as well as other administrative tasks and takes care of the library. She is also a Harassment Advisor and a DSE co-ordinator.

Beverley Lane – Administrative and Events Officer

Beverley’s main responsibilities are managing the Department’s Events and running the Conference/Room bookings system including all financial administration; administration for the MSc Admissions process and the administrative support for Athena SWAN and the Good Practice Steering Group. Beverley also provides PA support for Professor Alison Etheridge and Professor Gesine Reinert.

Dr Irene Scullion – Research Facilitator

Dr Irene Scullion is the part time research Facilitator for the Department.  Help is available in identifying suitable sources of funding, preparation and costing of  the application, and responding to queries during the consideration process.  Irene will also provide support for administration of grants (including timesheets and expenses) once awarded.  Please contact Irene as soon as possible when considering an application.

Jo Stafford-Tolley – PA to Head of Department

Joanna Stoneham – CDT Administrator

Joanna is responsible for the overall administration of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Science, including financial administration, academic administration, events planning and management, public engagement, and all other general administrative functions relating to the CDT. Joanna is also EA to the CDT Director, Professor Chris Holmes.

Rebecca Waterman – Personnel and Finance Administrator

Rebecca’s work involves the administration of personnel and finance processes within the department.

 

Stuart McRobert – Computing Manager

Stuart is an experienced Computing Manager with a specialist team of IT professionals managing the department’s extensive computing resources. This includes procurement and delivery of high performance CPU and GPU compute servers, storage, desktops and networking, along with regularly updating software used across the department.
