Research Interests

Computer intensive statistics, social networks, statistical computing

Biographical Sketch:

I have recently rejoined the Statistics Department after a break during which I indulged my passion for tropical botany (a link to some photos of my travels can be found on my personal web page).  I completed my D.Phil (on neural network methods in survival analysis) in 1998, and worked as the Departmental Consulting Officer during 2002 and 2003.  I now work part-time, teaching R programming to the postgraduate students.  I also work part-time in the Department of Politics and International Relations, as a Scientific Programmer.

Research

I am working with Professor Tom Snijders on a new version of his SIENA package for analysing social networks.
