Our work covers a broad range of theoretical and applied statistics
The Department is a world leader in research including core theoretical statistics, computational statistics, bioinformatics and mathematical genetics. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in 2008, Oxford Statistics led the field, with the highest proportion in the UK of research judged to be world leading or internationally excellent.
We offer an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Statistics (jointly with the Mathematical Institute), an MSc course in Applied Statistics, as well as providing a lively and stimulating environment for postgraduate research. Our graduates are employed in a wide range of occupational sectors throughout the world, including the university sector.
