Google Stats Talk

Friday 6th January 2017, 12 noon

Department of Statistics, Large Lecture Theatre

Dr Niall Cardin from Google Mountain View, California will be coming to give a talk about some of the work he is doing at Google. Please see below for details:

Talk title:  Topics in "Data Science" at Google.

Niall will introduce statistics/data-science at Google and give a description of how they do experiments.  He will then talk about some specific interesting cases, such as long term user behavior changes, and also talk about methods for cases where they can't run experiments.

This event is particularly aimed at postgraduate students from the Department of Statistics, the Mathematical Institute and the Department of Computer Science (but anyone with an interest in data science is welcome!).

A pizza lunch will be provided after the talk in the ground floor social area.

For catering purposes, please book your place at the talk by completing the booking form here.
