The following two servers will be rebooted at 9.30am. Group compute servers will be rebooted immediately afterwards.

- external ssh access

- Websites: mathgen, portal, access to rahnuma
- MySQL server
- XDMCP (Desktop sessions for Windows users)
- Compute server
- Maple license 

Effect:  The above services will all be unavailable

Duration: Approximately 5 minutes

Reason: Applying new kernel

All servers scheduled for a reboot on Wednesday 11 November 2009 have now been rebooted.

The following services will be under maintenance between 9.00am and 10.00am on Wednesday 11 November 2009.

Service: Linux /usr/local shares for desktops

Effect: Linux users may need to reboot their desktop systems

Duration: 5 minutes

Reason: Applying a new kernel

All compute servers will also be rebooted.

During maintenance periods services are more likely to be unavailable. In Statistics the maintenance period is between 8.30am and 11.00am on Wednesdays.
