Save messages as text

It can be convenient to keep a copy of an email correspondence outside of Outlook; maybe stored in a folder with other documents that relate to a project.

We can easily create a single text document that merges several messages together to create one simple file.

First, select the messages that you would like to save (hint: holding the ctrl button whilst clicking on individual messages allows you to select multiple non-sequential items).

Next, go to File -> Save As... and a new window will open. Choose a name for the file and make sure "Text Only (*.txt)" is selected as the 'Save As Type'.

Now, if you browse to the location of the file you just created, you can open the document to see a record of your mail. The messages are listed in order of the date and time they were received.
