How can I connect my laptop to the network?
Answer: Please mail ithelp at stats.ox.ac.uk with your laptop's hardware address.

How do I find out the hardware address?

Why can't I access the Statistics Intranet web pages/find my P: drive/print a file?
Answer: You need to connect to the VPN. You must mail ithelp at stats.ox.ac.uk to let us know that you intend to use this service.

I am short-term visitor to the Department without a local account. How do I connect to the network?
Answer: You can use OWL or OWL-VISITOR (depending on their availability).

My laptop has wireless connection. Can I use it?
Answer: Yes. You can use the OWL or eduroam wireless networks. You may also want to look at:
    - Setting up printing
    - Accessing your P: drive

Is Eduroam available in the Department?

I use Linux on my desktop PC: how can I access a Windows system?
Answer: Use the Windows Terminal Server

I use Windows on my desktop PC: how can I access a Linux system?
Answer: Use an Exceed server
